Richmond Organization for Sexual Minority Youth
Duties: The Executive Director (ED) of the Richmond Organization for Sexual Minority Youth (ROSMY) will oversee all operations of the agency.
Primary duties include:
program development, including establishing programs and activities consistent with the agency’s mission and overseeing the execution of programs and activities, grant writing and financial development, including establishing new funding sources and establishing and maintaining strong relationships with major donors, agency administration, including budgeting, overseeing payment of bills and employees, ensuring compliance with funding requirements, and ensuring the effective operation of the youth
center, andstaff supervision, including hiring staff, setting performance goals and objectives, and completing performance reviews. In addition, the ED will be responsible for establishing and maintaining strong, collaborative working relationships with community leaders, including other agencies with which ROSMY partners to provide services, leaders of other youth-oriented and/or gay-oriented organizations. The ED may be called on to represent the agency and its concerns in public forums.
The ED will supervise three part-time employees. The ED is a full-time, salaried position and reports to the Executive Committee of the ROSMY Board of Directors
Requirements: Candidates should possess a minimum of 3 – 5 years experience managing a non-profit organization, have experience with providing social service support to youth and possess a working knowledge of issues faced by sexual minority youth. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
About ROSMY: ROSMY is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered and questioning youth. ROSMY’s mission is to enhance the general well-being of sexual minority youth through support, opportunities, education and advocacy. Our youth center offers support groups, a computer lab, a library, and social opportunities for GLBTQ youth age 14-20. ROSMY also conducts trainings and workshops for adults who work with youth.
Salary Range: $35,000 – $40,000 per year, plus benefits
