Kate Evans: _Like All We Love_
I love Kate Evans’ writing. You can visit her here and check out her blog, where she shares from her work.
Q Press has released her book, Like All We Love, and it’s available now here.
Kate Evans lives in San Jose, California. Her poetry, fiction and essays have been widely published. She is the author of a book about lesbian and gay teachers, Negotiating the Self (Routledge) and has recently completed a novel (For the May Queen) and a collection of stories (Flirting with Rosie). She was a semi-finalist for the Pratt Institute Prize in Poetry, and a finalist in the New Voices Poetry Contest. She has been awarded three Phelan Literary Awards and nominated for two Pushcart Prizes. She teaches at San Jose State University.
I just left a comment on her blog here where she posted chapter one of For the May Queen. Beautiful and moving.
Kate’s other book is Negotiating the Self: Sexuality, Education, and Emotional Work, which is about queer teachers. It addresses some issues of the body and also queer theory as it relates to identity.
