Margaret Klugman wrote to tell me she would like to invite queer women to a practice that likes all women. A practice unafraid to talk about the issues of your sexuality, worries, same sex child bearing, lesbian bed death, and all the regular joys and woes of being women with vaginas, hormones, uteri, hopes and fears.

Below is the mission statement from www.grantklugmanobgyn.com (click for contact information).

Our practice is based on building relationships over time. Life is change and finding the best way to deal with and enjoy the changes can be challenging. There may be questions that we can answer for you making sense of things, providing helpful and medically sound advice…that is our passion.

Isn’t that how it should be?

Whether you are a young woman addressing your sexuality or a woman entering menopause, or anywhere in between, we are here to discuss these issues and help you make the best, most informed decisions for your health and well-being.

We have been working together as an MD/PA team for twenty years. What this means for our patients is that you get the benefit of both of our areas of expertise and two practitioners sharing in your care as needed. You can make an appointment with either Dr Grant or Ms Klugman. One of us is always available.

The crisis in healthcare – are you really getting what you want and deserve?

There is a crisis in healthcare. Managed medicine forces physicians to shorten patient visits to just minutes. This is not our policy. By deciding not to take part in many of the managed plans we have been able to continue our commitment to provide personalized compassionate care of the highest professional quality.

Many women do not have insurance. We are a private practice that understands this. Our fees are reasonable.

Managed care is a volume based formula that puts speed ahead of care, we put care first. This does not mean we do not take any insurance-some policies are applicable and our staff will always work to find ways to make this high quality care more affordable. Most labs and other tests including radiology (sonograms, mammograms, etc will be covered by your insurance). We believe the current healthcare system does not support women’s true health care needs – those needs extend beyond mere tests and exams to the quality of our lives.
