A Berlin man who was apparently inspired by the notorious “gay cannibal” Armin Meiwes has been jailed for killing another man with the intention of eating him.

Ralf M confessed to killing a gay man with a screwdriver during a sexual encounter. He reportedly dismembered the victim, whom he had met in a chat room, and stored the body parts to eat later.

However, a Berlin court heard that M was too horrified by the idea of the act to go through with it, choosing instead to feed the body parts to his cat.
