A St. Petersburg court has ruled that a person can not be denied a job because they are gay.

The man involved in this case is identified as VP. He was denied a job when a mental illness was found on his government file. This mental illness was his homosexuality and had been on his file since he was denied military service in 1992 for being gay (homosexuality was considered a mental illness in Russia at the time).

Unfortunately, the Russian legal system does not recognize precedent.
