About a year ago, God-Des, the modestly named hip-hop duo made up of Tina G and the eponymous God-Des, left the cozy confines of the Dairy State to make their way to the mean streets of Brooklyn.

So why should two dairy queens leave the Upper Midwest for the big bad Northeast? Chalk it up to those lights on Broadway — or, more specifically, the ones that strobe in and out at Downtown clubs. These ladies intend to put their unique stamp on the world of hip-hop. What’s so unique about God-Des? Well, for starters, in the macho world of hip-hop, where men are thugs and women are ‘hos, these two are lesbians.
